Live weight and absolute growth of hereford breed calves of different genotypes | Живая масса и абсолютные приросты молодняка герефордской породы разных генотипов

English. Research purpose is evaluation of possibility of increasing young Herefords productivity using genetic potential of bulls of Canadian selection. Experimental part of work was done in one of the farms of Samara region. The object of research was purebred bulls and heifers of Hereford breed, obtained by the insemination of local cow population by bulls of Canadian selection: Wide Load 391W, Upper Cut 20U, Absolute 49S and descendants of bulls of the domestic selection. The young animals obtained from the bulls of domestic and imported selection were relatively divided into 8 groups. In the first and the fourth groups there were heifers and bulls - descendants of the Wide Load 391W bull. In the second and the fifth group there were heifers and bulls - descendants of the Absolute 49S bull, in the third and the sixth – heifers and bulls, descendants of the Upper Cut 20U bull. For comparison with animals of the domestic population heifers from the domestic bulls were included in the seventh group, and their sons - in the eighth group. It is found that the young Hereford bulls obtained from the Canadian bulls in all periods of growth and development were superior in live weight and absolute gain than bulls and heifers obtained from bulls of the domestic selection. At the age of 8 months, the superiority of heifers-daughters of Canadian bulls in the live weight ranged from 3.9% to 7.6%, and of bulls - from 3.5% to 8.7%. At the end of the growing period, the difference in live weight among the groups of heifers was 6.9-29.9 kg (1.5-6.8%) and the absolute growth was 3.7-6.8% in favor of the daughters of Canadian bulls. In this age the sons of imported bulls surpassed their peers from the control group by 21.0-45.0 kg (4.2-8.95%), and in growth by 5.1-8.2%. The descendants of Wide Load 391W bull had the largest weight. The use of genetic potential of Canadian bulls will improve the productive performance of Herefords in breeding farms in Samara region.

Russian. Цель исследований – оценка возможности повышения продуктивности молодняка герефордской породы путём использования генетического потенциала быков-производителей канадской селекции. Экспериментальная часть работы была выполнена в одном из хозяйств Самарской области. Объектом исследований служили чистопородные бычки и телочки герефордской породы, полученные при осеменении коров местной популяции семенем быков канадской селекции: Вайд Лоад 391W, Аппер Кат 20U, Абсолют 49S и потомков быков отечественной селекции. Молодняк, полученный от быков отечественной и импортной селекции, был условно распределен на 8 групп. В первую и четвертую группы вошли телочки и бычки, потомки быка Вайд Лоад 391W. Во второй и пятой группе были телочки и бычки, потомки быка Абсолют 49S, в третьей и шестой – телочки и бычки, потомки быка Аппер Кат 20U. Для их сравнения с животными местной популяции в седьмую группу включили телок, а в восьмую группу – сыновей отечественных быков. Установлено, что молодняк герефордской породы, полученный от быков канадской селекции, во все периоды роста и развития превосходил по живой массе и абсолютным приростам бычков и телок, полученных от быков-производителей отечественной селекции. В возрасте 8 месяцев превосходство телок-дочерей канадских быков по живой массе составило от 3,9 до 7,6%, а бычков – от 3,5 до 8,7%. В конце периода выращивания разница по живой массе между группами телок составила 6,9-29,9 кг (1,5-6,8%), а по абсолютному приросту – 3,7-6,8% в пользу дочерей канадских быков. В этом возрастном периоде сыновья импортных быков превосходили своих сверстников из контрольной группы на 21,0-45,0 кг (4,2-8,95%), а по приросту - на 5,1-8,2%. Самую большую массу накопили потомки быка Вайд Лоад 391W. Использование генетического потенциала канадских быков позволит улучшить продуктивные качества герефордской породы племенных хозяйств Самарской области.
