English. There has been analyzed the dynamics of the main agrochemical indicators of soil fertility, the application of mineral and organic fertilizers, liming of acidic soils, yields of major crops in the Central Chernozem Region. According to the results of the agrochemical survey, the highest weighted average content of organic matter is observed in arable soils of the Tambov region (6.6%), and the lowest in the soils of the Kursk region (4.7%). The highest proportion of acid soils is characteristic of the Tambov (76%) and Lipetsk (73.6%) regions, and the lowest one – for the Voronezh region (28.2%). The maximum weighted average content of mobile forms of phosphorus (146 mg/kg) and potassium (157 mg/kg) was established in the soils of the Belgorod region, and the minimum one - 90 and 103 mg/kg, respectively – in the soils of the Tambov region. For 2012-2016 the highest level of mineral fertilizers (110 kg/ha) was installed in the Kursk region and organic (6.65 t/ha) in the Belgorod region. The highest average yield of cereals and legumes (4.07 t/ha) and sunflower (2.46 t/ha) was recorded in the Belgorod region, sugar beet (43.9 t/ha) – in the Voronezh region. During the same period, the largest areas (318.58 thousand hectares) of acidic soils were limed in the Belgorod region and the smallest ones (26.98 thousand hectares) – in the Voronezh region. The growth of yield of the main crops in some districts of the region for 2012-2016 relative to 2007-2011 by 7.3-44.8% is shown.
