Comparison of standard chronologies of silver fir (Abies alba Mill.) in dinaric phytogeografical region in Slovenia
1995

Preliminary dendrochronological investigations of the silver fir in 7 silver fir - beech forest stands in the Dinaric phytogeografic region show that the growing pattern of the silver fir is comparable, t-values are high and significant, signature years and pointer intervals match well. On this basis standard chronology for this region was set up. Comparison of the Dinaric standard chronology and the silver fir chronologies from Germany (Southern Germany and Bavarian Forest) shows high similarity. T-values after Baillie-Pilcher are high and significant. The same is true of the 'Gleichlaeufigkeit' coefficient. Slovenia so far has not had log-term silver fir chronology, however, considerable efforts have been made to establish it. Chronologies were made for the period of 1800-1994 and for the period before 1800 additional archaeological material should be collected.
