The shape of lactation curve of milking cows and milk yield is affected by many factors originating in genotype and environment. With good management it is possible to improve and minimize the influence of environmental effects. Milk yields of standard lactations were recalculated by Wood's model for 572.745 lactations in the period from 01.01.2000 to 01.08.2009. The distribution of lactation curves shows 70.5% of typical lactation curves which were included in further statistical processing. The proposed standards for lactation curves were estimated for various yields from 3.000 to 12.000 kg and 100 kg intervals. We obtained 257 standards of lactation curves which are needed for the estimation of potential milk yield and predicted milk yield of standard lactation. A comparison of curve for 7.000 kg milk yield with standard curve adopted from Morant and Gnanasakthy for the same milk yield was done. The shapes of both curves differed from each other and our standard curves were flatter with higher persistence than we expected. In frame of the examination a software module for the evaluation of potential, predicted and achieved milk yield of cows was developed. Beside the graphical interpretation of lactation curve, the difference between the potential and the predicted milk yield and the presentation of feeding supply is included.
