Influence of irrigation and N-fertilization on qualitative and quantitative parameters of tall fescue (Festuca elatior)
1996
Santa, M. (Vyskumny Ustav Zavlahoveho Hospodarstva, Bratislava (Slovakia))
Three year field trials showed that grassland irrigation is also effective in potato production areas. The irrigation regime kept on a level of 60 % of available water capacity and in the 0.40 m profile increases hectar yield and improves the uniformity of yield during vegetation. From four monitored grass sorts, tall fescue (Festuca elatior, syn. Festuca arundinacea) took second place from point of view of yield, production effect of nitrate and irrigation water. Cocksfoot (Dactilis glomerata) took first place. The trial results showed that tall fescue "Lekora" can suitably complete our present grass assortment under irrigation and non-irrigation conditions
