Logical-mathematical analysis of some problems in determining a regeneration cutting volume by the methods of cutting percentage

The methods of cutting percentage prescribed by the regulation on forest management No. 5/1995, Digest of Laws of Slovak Republic is analysed. A small adaptibility of these methods is explained as well as the usefulness of an empirical cutting percentage method only for large forest complexes, that are not an object of contemporary forest management within the Slovak Republic. The method of cutting percentage according to age-classes does not respect regularities of growth and gradual "dying" - cutting of stock of stands in regeneration mainly by implementing a symmetric layout and speculative volumes of regeneration cutting in square meters in VS of the regeneration period. We suggest it be determined by a partially adaptable and dynamic method based on exponential function with input variables and coefficients, which are determined for subunits of an arranged higher unit of time and spatial forest distribution and/or the respective regenerating stands.
