Wood-destroying fungi staining techniques and wood staining techniques were designed for up-to-date light and electron microscopic images analysis processing. Brown-rot fungi Serpula lacrymans ((Wulf. ex Fr.) Schroet) and Coniophora puteana ((Schum. ex Fr.) Karst.) were selected as typical representatives of the most dangerous wood-destroying fungi in wood structures used in buildings both in Czech Republic and essentially in whole Europe. Wood of Norway spruce (Picea abies (L.) Karst.) was used as typical wood species for Czech Republic. Up-to-date microscopic devices and techniques provide new possibilities for describing of wood-destroying fungi growing process and its effects on wood. It is supposed next using of these techniques for more effective wood rescue and preservation in buildings
