The paper presents results of experimental study of using the preparation on the basis of the Bacillus thuringiensis var. tenebrionis Berl. for control of bark beetles (Ips typographus mainly). The treatment was done as a preventive and as a curative one. Comparison of treated and untreated samples showed, that there were not any significant differences. This technology is not suitable for bark beetles control. During the microscopic study of B. t. tenebrionis spores presence we found other microorganisms, which are a part of bioregulation complex of I. typographus in Slovakia
