In field experiments established in years 1999-2001 in a maize-barley production area on degraded Chernozem the effects of herbicides (PPI, FREE and POST) (a. i. synfloran, pendimethalin plus imazamox, bentazone, acifluorfen) in reduced dose on weeds, soybean stand, seed yield and one thousand seed weight (TSW) were examined. Excellent efficiency on weeds was obtained with combination of pendimethalin plus imazamox plus bentazone in reduced dose with wetting agent, next one with POST application of acifluorfen in reduced dose with synfloran preplant incorporated. From the point of view of soybean yield, combination of FREE plus POST herbicides in reduced doses of active ingredients gave the highest yield 3,23 t/ha with highly significant difference 0,69 t/ha and the next one (PPI plus POST) the second highest yield 2,96 t/ha with significant difference 0,62 t/ha, compared to the standard treated control (2,54 t/ha). No treatment had significant effect on TSW
