The paper deals with problems supply available water in the dry periods in the growing season. Individual areas of physiologically available water for plants were characterised using soil hydrolimits. The ecological classification of soil water regime was also characterised according to the soil profile moisture content, duration of moisture state and moisture stratification. Available water varies in the growing season in the upper 0-20 cm soillayer between good and in unsufficient supply, in the whole physiological profile of the soil (0-100 cm) between very good and very low available water.
