Bioavailable phosphorus (P) forms and their content relative to total (residual) P in soil were studied. Topsoil samples (0-30 cm, n=199) from long-term field experiments in the Czech Republic were used. Experiments are situated in different soil-climatic conditions. The pH/CaCl2 value was always lower then 7.0. Bioavailable P was estimated using 0.01 CaCl2 (PCaCl2) gt distilled water (PH20), anion exchange membranes (Pex), calcium lactate (PCAL), ammonium lactate (PDL), Olsen (POLS) and Mehlich 3 (PM3) extracts. Residual P content (Par) was estimated using the aqua regia extraction. Calcium lactate (PCAL) and ammonium lactate (PDL) methods showed not to be suitable for the studied set of samples. Mehlich 3 method determined also the non-bioavailable phosphorus forms. Statistically signifficant relations between all the studied methods were estimated.
