The results of a research on sylvicultural characteristics of P. caribaea introduced into Vietnam were reported in this paper: Results of provenance trials at Dai Lai, Lang Hanh, Pleiku. Observation on fruiting capacity of P. caribaea planted at different sites. Vegetative propagation of P.caribaea by cutting. The conclusions could be summarized as follows: P. caribaea is regarded as one of the most promising exotic pine species for forest planting in the low areas of V.N. P. caribaea variety hondurensis grew best at majority of trial sites, but at Ba Vi variety bahamensis is best. It produced full seeds in the plantations at Dong Ha (Quang Tri province) and Dai Lai (Vinh Phuc province). The ratio of rooted cutting can be as high as 90 percent (with the appropriate treatment technics).
