Evaluation of seawater intrusion into Capda river mouth under the existence of Binhduong and Binhphuoc dams
2004
Nguyen Van Hoang | Nguyen Thanh Cong
The sea water intrusion regime in mouth of Tra Bong river in Binh Son district-Quang Ngai province is very changeable. Meanwhile, fresh water is very essential for the socio-economic development of the district, especially for agricultural activities. The total land of the district that has been affected by salinization is about 1643ha. Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc dams have been considered to be built to overcome the salinization problem. Sea water intrusion into the mouth of the river by finite element modeling has been used for analyzing the salinization regime when the dams shall be existing. The results are detailed in time for decision- making in water utilization dependently upon the river water salt concentration.
