The effect of diameter and length of stem-cuttings on root production of physic nut (Jatropha curcus L.)
1984
Bantavan Thitithanavanich
A study was conducted on root formation of Jatropha curcus stem cuttings of different sizes namely 1, 2 and 3 cm in diameter; 15 and 30 cm in length grown in the small bed of 24 sq m. It was found that the 30 cm long cuttings were able to produce more roots and could survive better than the 15 cm long cuttings. The cuttings of bigger diameter were also able to produce more roots than the cuttings of smaller diameter.
