Breaking dormancy of peach seeds
1984
Premchit Phtchayaworakun
Three groups of seeds namely excised, cracked and normal seeds were stored under dry and moist conditions. Each condition provided 6 levels of temperature (0 deg C, 5 deg C, 10 deg C, 15 deg C, 20 deg C, and room temperature). Seeds were sown 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 weeks after storage at individual temperature. The result indicated that excised seeds stored under moist and cool (10-20 deg C) conditions for a period of 2-3 weeks had the highest seed germination. Cracked seeds stored under moist and cool (10-20 deg C.) conditions for a period of 3-4 weeks ranked second in seed germination
