Chun Sinchaipanich
The body of Horseshoe crab can be divided into 3 parts, cephalothorax, abdomen and tail. They have semicircular plates as exoskeletons and connective tissue plates as endoskeletons. The circulatory system is the open type and the nervous system is simple. Gills are used as a method of respiration. Horseshoe crabs begin to lay eggs early in summer from February to September. 30 days after the external fertilization, trilobite larvaes hatch and molt many times before growing to maturity which in Thailand it is found that there is more male Horseshoe crabs than female ones
