Researching the high-yield isolate of Abalone Mushroom Culture in the Polyethylene bag

A study on mycelial growth, morphology, and yielding capacity of 11 different abalone mushroom isolates was conducted in 1985 at Maejo Institute of Agricultural Technology, Sansai, Chiang Mai. It was found that the most outstanding isolates were BK.4, BK.2, TO. and PC-14 respectively. These four isolates gave highest yield, possessed highest average fruit weight, and required shortest time to mature, to fruiting, and shortest harvesting period. The other 7 isolates gave lower yield, lower average fruit weight, and required longer time to mature, to fruiting, and longer harvesting period than the first four outstanding isolates.
