Prophylaxis of Aeromonas hydrophila infection in catfish (Clarias batrachus) by intraperitoneally injection of tetracyclin hydrochloride 5 mg./kg of fish, was undertook. The medicated catfish was challenged with 10 (exp. 9) cells of A. hydrophila F-181 by intramuscularly after the application of antibiotic at 6 hours 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 and 7 days. Antibiotic could prevent the infection for 3 days being 100 % protection. At day 4, the protection rate was decreased to 80 %. And at day 6 and 7, all medicated fishes were infected.
