1984
Siri Tookvinas (National Institute of Coastal Aquaculture, Songkhla (Thailand))
Freshwater fisheries are considered to be very poor in Bang Nara river, excepting the area above the acid sulfate swamp (Phru To Daeng). Thus, marine fisheries are much more active than freshwater fisheries. However, the major fishing activities are carried out by small trawlers or small, out-board power boats, of which about 144 were registered in 1983. The total catch from marine fisheries resources was approximately 1600 tonnes in 1982.
