Preliminary study on the flood tolerability in jackfruit
1989
Yuporn Tiradhanapiboon
From the study of the flood tolerability in jackfruit (Artocarpus heterphyllus) by dividing the seedlings into 8 groups. Each group was flooded from 1 to 7 days and the last one was kept as control. The flooded plants responded to various symptoms due to damage. These were epinasty, wilting, chlorosis, shoot browning and necrosis. The longer the seedlings were flooded the more severe damages were obtained. Some seedings died even if they have been flooded for just 1 day. There was different flood tolerability in individual seedling.
