Nitrogen and wheat in paddy field
1987

Experiments described are the final ones of 3 years studies which were designed to determine the optimum nitrogen fertilizer strategy for wheat in paddy soil at Phrae Rice Research Center. Results showed non significant differences between compound fertilizers or urea plus triple superphosphate together. Furthermore, from previous work (1985/86), there appear to be no differences in nitrogen source. A nitrogen rate of about 20 kg N/rai appeared to give maximum wheat grain response. Efficiency of nitrogen is still low and may be limited by other nutritional or soil pathological factors.
