Effect of paclobutrazol and KNO3 on flowering and fruit setting of mango (Mangifera indica L.) cv. Khiew Sawoey
1987
Kanapol Jutamanee
Two-year-old Khiew Sawoey mango tree were drenched with 6 grams (ai) paclobutrazol and sprayed with 2.5 % KNO3 at 4, 6, 8 and 10 weeks after drenching to promote off-season flowering. The experiment was conducted at Khoew Suwan Garden, Bang Khla district, Chachoeng-sao province during July 1986 to February 1987. KNO3 sprayed after paclobutrazol drenching at 8 and 10 weeks could induce off-season flowering and gave flowering percentage of shoots to 13.75 and 21.25 % respectively. The second flowering period was observed on October which gave the flowering shoot 40.00 to 62.50 % in the paclobutrazol treated tree. Fruit set of all treatments were not significantly different.
