Erosional role of slumped hump and its control benefits was investigated in Guanqiao town of Anxi county and Dapu billige of Yongchun county where they are located in southeast of China. Generation of slump erosion generally depend on geology, landform, vegetation and rainfall; and that slump are mainly in containing granite and high rainfall areas where there are deep and thick weathering layer. The measures for slump control are usully digging drain ditch around slump head, and planting grasses, shrubs and trees along the slope and wall, and cultivating bamboo, fruits or other crops in the base, also building dam in the exit. Among these measures, vegetative dam and bamboo are particularly effective: after taking above mentioned measures for 4 years, the investment for control measures can be returned and soil erosion have been reduced 43,693 ton/sq.meter.yr, soil have been improved on the slope. Investigational data are to introduce why slump take place and how to control it. Slump is a kind of serious collapse erosion. In Guanqiao town and Dapu village, a great number of slump erosion have happened, which caused field damage, and sediment in the river. Therefore, how to control slump is an important task for soil conservation. The vegetative and engineering measures have been used for several years in above mentioned areas. Meanwhile, slump generation and its control benefits are being studied in order to find better control measures.
