Length-weight relationship and digestive tract content of adult seahorse, Hippocampus histrix Kaup from Khram island, Chonburi Province [Thailand]

Total 101 Adult Seahorses Hippocampus histrix Kaup were collected from Khram Island, Chonburi Province in December 1986. The Seahorses ranged from 12.2 to 17.5 cm. in total length. Of the 101 adult digestive tract content was examined, 101 (100 %) contained food. Fish constituted 78.1 % by occurrence of the organisms, crustacea 44.07, mollusca 17.42, porifera 6.6 echinoderm 7.12, fish scale 2.37, bryozoa 0.26 and diatom 0.26 %. The calculated length-weight relationship for adult seahorses in the size range 12.2-17.5 cm. was log W=-2.0930+2.5302 log L.
