Postharvest handling of cucumber
Anon.
Japanese-variety cucumber which might be a potential fruit vegetable was grown for trial by the highland agricultural project in Maehair, Chiang Mai. The fruits were harvested on April 27, 1980. They were tested at the Postharvest Laboratory of Horticulture Department, Kasetsart University, Bangkok. During ten days after harvest, storage of the cucumber with different kinds of wrapping indicated that the fruit should be individually wrapped with paper, a size of half a newspaper page and stored at room temperature (30 deg. celsius, 70 % RH), its storage life was 6 days. Those in sealed PE bags at 10 deg. celsius could be stored for 10 days.
