Purpose of this thesis is to study the effect of three different types of land use in Huai Hong Khrai Watershed area namely: dry dipterocarp forest (DDF), DDF mixed with plantation and agricultural land on aquacultural potential of the reservoirs. Temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, hardness, suspended solid and chlorophyll-a in these 3 reservoirs are suitable for aquaculture while transparency, alkalinity, nitrate and phosphate are under the optimum levels. The change of primary production (PP) has positive relationship with phosphate (PO4) and chlorophyll-a (chl). The relationship between primary production and these two parameters can be expressed as: PP=0.8878 chl** (0.5299); R** (2)=0.9838 and PP=4.932.945 PO4** (1.6174): R** (2)=0.8841. The difference of land uses in this Study Center showed highly significant effect on the phosphate, chlorophyll-a and on primary production in these 3 reservoirs. Downstream reservoir of agricultural land has higher potential for aquaculture than that of DDF and DDF mixed with plantation.
