Average area of jackfruit growing was 9.89 rai at the average planting of 20 tree per rai. Most of the jackfruit was done at the age of 5 years. The average yield at the age of 7-10 years was 8,893 kilograms/rai/year. The prices of jackfruit at farm varied from 2.50 baht to 8.00 baht per fruit. Some farmers sold their jackfruits to the food processing factories while the rest sold to the local open markets. Usually the local merchants bought the product at the farms in cash. The main problem on jackfruit growing was the damage caused by insect disease and pests. The farmers need some assistance especially on how to take good care of the jackfruit trees and how to improve the jackfruit's variety accordingly to the approved technology. The jackfruit farmers were different in labor utilization and farm holdings but similar in level of education, membership of agricultural groups and also on the job training experiences.
