Opinions on backyard cattle fattening of the settlers and their knowledge in the Phrabudhabat Landsettlement, Changwat Saraburi-Lopburi

Objectives of this research were to study the settlers' knowledge on backyard cattle fattening and their opinions on some necessary factors in order to gain information for promoting their occupation. The data were collected from 134 settlers by interviewing and were analyzed for percentage, arithmetic mean, t-test and chi-square. The results of the study revealed that the opinions of the settlers who belonged to the cattle fattening group and who were not the members of the group were different significantly on having sufficient pasture and water resources all year-round, having sufficient capital resouces, having sufficient capital of their own, having sufficient labour and having strong group for cattle fattening. And the opinions of the young and old settlers were different significantly on having sources for buying fattening cattle with fair price. It was also found that the settlers with different age, labour, income and member of cattle fattening group had the same knowledge of cattle fattening.
