Production and marketing of pineapple in Amphoe Phon Phisai, Changwat Nong Khai

Most of the farmers cultivated pineapple during April-June. All of them applied chemical fertilizer and ethrel-urea mixture for flowering control. Most of them used herbicide. All of the farmers determined the harvesting time by counting the age from flowering. For production selling, 76.6 % of the farmers sold pineapple for fresh consumption and food processing. Their problems were expensive chemical fertilizer, high interest rate of capital loan and low price of pineapple production. The farmers with different number of family members for pineapple cultivation, size of pineapple cultivating area, experience of producing and annual income for pineapple products did not find the quantity of pineapple yield per rai and selling methods to be statistically significant.
