In the present, hybrid corn has an important role in increasing average yield/rai and total product for supporting national consumption and export. The objective of this research was to improve hybrid corn varieties producing higher yield at least 10 % than Suwan 1 (S)C11, Suwan 3 (S)C4 and Suwan 2602 (KTX 2602). Kasetsart Three-way Cross 3101 (KTX 3101) was developed from Kasetsart Single-Cross 2903 (KSX 2903) crossed with Kasetsart in bred line no. 21 (Ki 21). From results tested at different locations in corn belt areas in 4 years (1986-1989), KTX 3101 gave mean yield (1,045) kg/rai) higher than Suwan 2602 (16 %), Suwan 1 (S)C11 (21 %), and Suwan 3 (S)C4 (13 %) from 95, 50 and 52 experiments, respectively. Regression coefficients (b) of KTX 3101 were nearly 1.0 which showed that it gave high stability for yield. In addition, KTX 3101 had better some agronomic characters than the checks; i.e., plant height, stalk lodging, leaf diseases, husk cover and shelling percentage.
