Effects of enzyme alpha-galactosidase supplementation on performances of the piglets were evaluated. Eighteen weaning piglets composed of 12 Large white and 6 Landrace were divided into 3 groups of 6 animals each. Each group of the animals was randomly fed one of the experimental diet as following. Diet 1 starter diet using soybean meal and fish meal for protein supplement; Diet 2: starter diet using only soybean meal for protein supplemented and Diet 3: using diet 2 but supplemented with ATAPON-H which is a combination of probiotics bacteria and digestive enzyme at a level of 0.1 % in the diet. Average daily gain and feed conversion ratio of the piglets on those 3 diets were 0.459, 0.355, 0.443 kg/day and 1.600, 2.682, 1.643, respectively. The piglets fed diet using only soybean meal for protein supplement tended to have less average daily gain and poorer feed conversion ration than the control group. Supplementation of ATAPON-H 0.1 % in soybean meal based diet (diet 2) improved the growth and feed conversion ration of the animals. Alpha-galactosidase contained in ATAPON-H was claimed to be responsible for the improvements.
