Sweet bamboo is regarded as one of the economic crops. Normally propagation can be made by stem cutting through which only small population can be obtained in a relatively short period of time. The objective of this study was to find out the suitable medium formular for bamboo propagation with aseptic technique. In the first experiment, aseptic plantlets of bamboo were cultured in MS media containing 0, 1 and 2 mg/l BA in combination with 0, 10, 15 and 20 mg/l coconut water. At 30 days after treatment, On average 2 mg/l BA result in the maximum increase of 9 shoots per plantlet. Coconut water did not contribute to the increase. In the second experiment, MS media were supplemented with 3 and 5 mg/l BA. The maximum increase of 9.6 shoots per plantlet was obtained with the medium containing 5 mg/l BA in 30 days after treatment. For root development, MS media were enriched with 0, 0.5 and 1.0 mg/l NAA. The maximum number of roots per plantlet (23.2) was obtained with 0.5 mg/l NAA. The survival percentage of the plants at 2 weeks after planting was 72.9.
