BOD analytical improvement for water sample from shrimp pond

Seawater from two selected shrimp ponds (pond 1 and pond 2) which growing shrimp for 45 days was subjected to BOD analysis. The water was either analysed immediately (method 1.) after taking samples or was analysed after it was stored at 47 deg C for 18 hrs (method 2). Method 1 yielded 14 % and 36.8 % lower BOD values than did the method 2, in pond 1 and pond 2, respectively. Therefore, analysis for BOD by method 1 was more realiable than that by method 2.
