Viral disease in paralytic syndrome of brownspotted grouper (Epinephelus malabaricus)

Diseased fish sized about 2.5-15.0 cm in length that showed a paralytic syndrome was studied on histopathology, electron microscope and reinfection. Histopathology changes consist of vacuolation in the eye and brain. An observation of eye and brain on the electron microscope revealed numerous cytoplasmic, non-envelope virus particles with icosahedral in shape, about 20 nm in diameter. Reinfection of virus resulted in 70 percent mortality, histopathological changes of the consisting in eye and brain of vacuoles
