Analysis of land reform project, Amphoe Bungsampan Changwat Phetchabun

Increase efficiency of Land Reform project has been outlined by Thai Government for 5 year (1992-1996) with the budget allocation of 1,000 million for fiscal year 1992. The project aims to help landless farmers to have the land for cultivation so that they will have to migrate to some place in the future. The interest rate for the loan is 6 percent per annum with 20 years of repayment period. The objectives of the study is the evaluate the financial liability and repayment ability of farmers participating inn this project. In addition, financial analysis of the whole project is also performed. The results of the study reveal that at the discount rate at 6 percent the NPV, B/C ratio and IRR of the first production plan; rice, mango, fish and cattle, are 76,047 Baht, 1.13 and 8.47 percent. For the second production plan; rice, mango, fish and swine, are 98,231 Baht, 1.13 and 9.01 percent. For the third production plan; rice, mango, fish and broilers are 101,462 Baht, 1.17 and 9.26 percent. All of the three production plans are financially viable and farmers are able to repay the loans. The results of the total project also showed the NBV, B/C ratio at 6 percent discount rate and IRR of the project are 301,391 Baht, 1.01 and 6.01 percent which also implies that the Land Reform project at Amphoe Bungsampan is financially feasible.
