Pla-too or Indo-Pacific mackerel (Rastrelliger brachysoma) is a schooling pelagic fish which can be caught by various types of purse seines such as Thai purse seine, light luring purse seine and encircling gill nets. It is remarkable that Pla-too can also be caught in a huge quantity by pair trawl. If the catch of Pla-too could be represented as an indicator of the conservation measurement, it can be said that 16 tons Pla-too of 12.5-21.5 cm in length with the peak 17-20 cm surveyed from 9 pair trawls on June 16, 1995 with average CPUE 1,190 kg/hr which consisted of 526 kg. Pla-too, could be interpreted that the area and duration of closing Phang-nga Bay for conservation measurement are effective. However, the studies have to be continued for reconfirmation.
