Fungicides application for controlling soybean purple seed stain

Soybean standard variety, Chiangmai 60 was grown to study on fungicides application for controlling soybean purple seed stain at Chiang Mai Field Crop Research Center in both dry and rainy season 1989. Randomized complete block design was used with 4 replications. Two kind of fungicides and 7 treatments were tested. There were only few purple seed (2 %) in dry season, but the number of infected seed were great (15 %) in wet season. Two fungicide application of Bordeaux mixture (55 c.c per 20 litres of water) before flowering stage (R1) and 2 weeks later including sprayed with 15 gm of Thiophanate per 20 litres of water at filling pod stage had high ability to control this disease.
