LINCO-SPECTIN plus sulfamethazine (L-S/Su at 33/110 ppm) treated weaners demonstrated improved daily weight gain (14.9 percent) and feed efficiency (20.5 percent) during 4 weeks after weaning when compared with a non-medicated control group (P0.05). In the control group, 2 pigs developed severe diarrhoea and were successfully treated. No disease occurred in the treated group. In the growers, the L-S/Su treated pigs (16 ppm/110 ppm dose rate) showed a 5.5 percent improvement in feed efficiency (P0.05) and a 2.2 percent improvement in average daily gain. Overall, the L-S/Su treatment gave a 7.9 percent improvement of average daily gain and 12.3 percent improvement in feed efficiency (P0.05).
