Relationship of feeding rate and water quality in black tiger shrimp ponds
1997
Apirak Masa
Results from the study of the relationship of feeding rate and water quality in intensive Penaeus monodon Fabricius Ponds indicated that there was no correlation between accumulated feed and ammonia concentration, accumulated feed and nitrite concentration, and accumulated feed and water pH measure in the afternoon. Accumulated feed were significantly correlated with carbon dioxide, water pH measured in the moring, secchi disc visibility (P.01) and nitrite concentration (P.05). r*[2) values of accumulated feed and secchi disc visibility, and accumulated feed and water pH measured in the morning were 0.7120 and 0.8131, respectively. Calculation of appropriate accumulated feed, shrimp production and stocking density were made using the relationship between accumulated feed (X) and secchi disc visibility (Y) which indication the amount of phytoplankton, from the equation Y
