Effect of land use practices on soil erosion at Pak Phanang Watershed Research Station, Ban Kiriwong, Amphoe Lan Saka, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province was carried out using soil and water losses observed during 1993 to 1997 from 4*20 metre soil and runoff plots with three replication in five land use practices types are natural forest, pomology planing under clearcut para rubber, pomology planting under big tree, palm nut planting and durain planting. Results showed that the average soil loss from pomology planting under big tree plots are highest were 63.26 ton/square km/year followed by durian planting, natural forest, palm nut planting and pomology planing under clearcut para rubber were 35.66, 2.38, 2.30 and 1.05 ton/square km/year respectively. Average water loss from pomology planting under big tree was the highest about 46.06 mm/year followed by durian planting, palm nut planting, natural forest and pomology planting under clearcut para rubber were 38.24, 6.66, 5.09 and 3.67 mm/year respectively. The soil losses from various types of land use plots have high relationship with runoff which indicated by coefficient of determination (R2) was 0.8724-0.91 and highly significant. Therefore, these relationships could be accurate to estimate soil losses from land use practices plots in watershed area.
