Economic analysis on pig manure biogas system substitute LPG system and electricity system

Objectives of this study was to analysis the Biogas System at Pakchong Farm Phansukornthai-Denmark Public Company Limited both economically and financially. The results of the study can be used as a decision guide for those who are generally interested in Pig Manure Biogas System and as a data base for other related agencies that function to promote Pig Manure Biogas System in others areas. The study used the cost-benefit analysis which contains indicators namely : NPV BCR and IRR at discount rate of 9 percent 12 percent and 15 percent. Morever, sensitivity analysis of the project is carried out by assuming costs increase by 10 percent, benefits decrease by 10 percent and costs increase with benefits decrease by 10 percent. The results of this study are as following : Case 1 biogas system substitutes LPG System: a) NEPO subsidy the project. The results of financial analysis and sensitivity analysis found that biogas system is benefit to invest. b) NEPO did not subsidy the project. The results of financial analysis and sensitivity analysis at discount rate 9 percent and 12 percent found that biogas system is benefit to invest. However, sensitivity analysis at discount rate 15 percent in case of cost increase with benefits decrease by 10 percent; showed that biogas system is not benefit to invest. The results of economic analysis and sensitivity analysis found that biogas system is better than LPG System. Case 2 biogas system substitutes Electricity System. NEPO subsidy the project. The results of financial analysis at discount rate 9 percent and 12 percent found that biogas system is benefit to invest. The sensitivity analysis at discount rate 9 percent in case of costs increase by 10 percent and benefits decrease by 10 percent found that biogas system is benefit to invest. The results of economic analysis at discount rate 9 percent found that biogas system is benefit to invest.
