Tissue culture in aromatic rice

Tests had been performed to determine the proper condition and most suitable ingredient of medium for 6 different varieties of rice grown in culture. Seeds culture of all six varieties for callus induction grown in the light condition is better than in the dark condition. The suitable callus induction medium for Kaodogmali 105 (KDML), Basmati 370 (Bas 370) and Rice Department 15 (RD 15) varieties is the modified MS medium containing 5 mg/l NAA and 1 mg/l kinetin, for Nangmol S4 (NMS 4) and Pradoodaeng (PDD) varieties is the modified MS medium supplemented with 4 mg/l NAA and 1 mg/l kinetin, and for Patumthani 60 (PTT 60) variety is the modified MS medium supplemented with 5 mg/l NAA and 0.5 mg/l kinetin. The suitable plantlet regenerated medium for KDML and NMS4 varieties is the modified MS medium without growth regulator, for PTT 60 variety is the modified MS medium containing 1 mg/l kinetin, for RD 15 variety is the modified MS medium supplemented with 2 mg/l kinetin, and for Bas 370 and PDD varieties is the modified MS medium supplemented with 3 mg/l kinetin.
