Experiment culture of Seaweed, Gracilaria fisheri by Sandwich-net method was conducted in Outer part of Songkhla Lake (between net cage culture of Seabass), during July 16, 1991-October 16, 1991. The Sandwich-net is 3.2 m. long x 1.2, wide (mesh size 2.5 cms in down side and mesh size 4.0 cms in up side) put into nylon net (10x2.0x0.9 m in size and mesh size 1.0 cms) for prevention the predators. The results showed that seaweed was harvested once a month, the production in 1st, 2nd, 3rd of the month was 1,255; 5,244.44; and 873.84 gms/square m or 522.91; 2,185.18 and 1,398.14 kgs/rai/month, respectively. The other was not harvested during the experiment, the production was 1,498.33 kgs/rai/month. The quality of water such as average water temperature, Salinity, Transparency, pH. Dissolved oxygen, Nitrite, Nitrate, Ammonia-Nitrogen, Orthophosphate, Silicate, Biochemical oxygen demand and Total suspended solids ranged from 27.64-29.70 deg C, 22.0-29.3 ppt., 50-65.5 cms, 7.80-8.15, 5.26-5.60, 0.0007-0.0008 mg/l, 0.015-0.022 mg/l, 0.027-0.077 mg/l, 0.000-0.09 mg/l, 0.882-1.22 mg/l, 0.67-1.23 mg/l and 171.8-244.75 mg/l, respectively. The important predator such as Siganus canaliculatus Mungo-Park and competitor, Enteromorpha sp. had been implicated as a cause of reduced the production of seaweed, Gracilaria fisheri.
