Indole alkaloid Nb-demethylechitamine has been isolated from the stem bark of Alstonia glaucescens. Its structure was determined by means of spectroscopic analysis. Unambiguous assignments were established on the basis of 1D- and 2D-NMR experiments including H-H COSY, C-H COLOC, C-H COSY, and Differential NOE measurements. Some previous ambiguous assignments have been corrected and clarified.
