Diclazuril was given at 1 ppm in the feed for prevention of caecal coccidiosis in two-week-old broilers. Each birds was orally inoculated with 6.0*10*[4) oocysts of Eimeria tenella 2 days after medication. Two birds were daily necropsied for 7 days and the caeca were collected for histopathologic study. Diclazuril is effective against both the asexual and sexual stage of Elimeria tenella eg. degenerated gametocytes, and the presence of intraprotoplasmic vacuoles in the schizonts.
