Web spinning mite named Schizotetranychus andropogoni (Hirst) is important pest of the sugar-cane. It caused heavy damage to the leaves in dry season, causing the young sugar-cane plant to be stunt, lost chlorophyll on leaves and finally wilt. The study on the biology of this mite was carried out in the Laboratory of Entomology and Zoology Division. The result showed the web spinning mite produced web to cover their colonies and clump under surface of leaves. Sex-ratio of the progeny fertiled female was 11.4:1 (female:male). The unfertiled female laid eggs and sex-ratio of the offspring was 1:11.18 (female:male). The period of development of female from egg to the last nymphal stage was 13.1+-0.26 days. Longevity of female adult was 41.3+-1.72 days. The period of development of male from egg to the last nymphal stage was 15.55+-1.03 days. Longevity of male adult was 69.05+-3.88 days. Fecundity was 27+-3.36 eggs in average.
