Learning achievement among pratomsuksa 6 students and their guardians through a rabies health education developed program

Objectives were to explore whether or not the students would transfer their knowledge to their guardians and whether the knowledge would have the impact on rabies control. The models were administered as follows: Education by Classroom Teacher Model, Education by Exhibition Model, Education by Health Personnel Model and Non-Education Model. The study revealed that there was no significant difference among the first 3 models except the last one (Non-Education Model) which showed a statistically significant difference at 0.05 CL (Confidence level). Knowledge scores were higher in all the 3 models compared to the scores at the beginning of the program at 0.05 CL (t=22.85, df=135) and remained measurable until one month later without any statistical difference at 0.05 CL (t=1.02, df=135). Knowledge scores of the guardians whose children were treated with the 3 models one month after also increased at 0.05 CL (t=2.44, df=107; t=4.42, df=108; t=3.64, df=138, respectively). It should be noted that there was a statistically significant difference between the guardians whose children received health education from their teachers and those whose children received health education from the other 2 models at 0.05 CL.
