Mutation causing aberation at the gene or chromosome levels can be applied not only in crop improvement but also on gene tagging by RAPD and RFLP techniques. Gamma irradiated KDML 105 mutants segregating for photoperiod sensitivity, plant height and blast resistance were used to screen 160 RAPD primers. One such primer clearly detected blast resistance. When develop the primer was developed into RFLP, the result still shown the same pattern. The marker, will be mapped in the future.
