Study on using some legumes as cover crop together with compost fertilizer in mango orchard was conducted in CRD, 7 treatments and 4 replications. Treatments used were growing Centro (Centrosema pubescens. Benth.), Verano (Stylosanthes hamata) and Mimosa invisa.ex colla Var. inermis Adelb. together with and without using 30 kg of compost fertilizer/plant. The control condition was no legumes and no compost. The height, width and dry weight/square m of centro (Centrosema pubescen) were found to be higher than other legumes. Therefore it gave maximum covered area, and minimum weight of fresh and dry weed. The result was significantly different. Treatments with and without compost fertilizer did not show any difference in those aspect. The control condition and using Minosa invisa Var. inermis Adelb gave the least soil moisture content. Either using legumes or compost did not affect soil bulk density. There was no difference in mango growth, height, width and circumference. Using legumes as cover crops would not affect mango growth but reduced weed amount and maintained soil moisture content in dry season.
