Study on oxytetracycline residues in Penaeus monodon Fabricius from shrimp pond

Residue of Oxytetracycline (OTC) was studied in shrimp (average weight 12.5 g, 90 days) under farm condition after administration OTC 5 g/kg feed/time/3 times a day for 7 days. The result demonstrated that OTC persisted in muscle of shrimp fed with pellet mixed on farm with OTC for 5 days. The maximum and minimum concentration of OTC in shrimp muscle were 2.488 and 0.006 ppm respectively by Microbiological assay method.
